This five-day acting intensive involves learning to understand the analytical and physical tools needed for this craft. The actor learns to analyze scenes for the tangible, physically-playable objectives, and to use their imagination, voice, body and sense of play to bring the character and story to life. IN-PERSON class. For High School Students
Chris has been performing for more than 35 years in venues across the country. He earned his MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School at New School University in New York City where he studied with Ron Liebman, Arthur Storch, Elizabeth Kemp, Stuart Vaughan and Lloyd Richards. After moving to the Bay Area 8 years ago, Chris has worked at TheatreWorks, San Francisco Playhouse, 42nd Street Moon, Hillbarn Theatre, Jewel Theatre, and Cabrillo Stage. He has taught Scene Study at Dragon Theatre and online for South Bay Musical Theatre’s eStudio, as well as coached privately.
Chris believes the core of any performance is truth. Sometimes, in order to “perform” or to “make something happen” actors lose sight of their actual job: to tell the truth. There are as many ways to arrive at the truth as there are actors trying to get there. Chris tries to help actors find their way to telling the truth. He especially enjoys working with young performers and is delighted to join Zohar this summer.
